A Showcase of Shen Yun Dance Techniques 2021 is now available on demand on our new Shen Yun Creations streaming platform.
The showcase features a dazzling all-star lineup. You’ll be able to see your favorite Shen Yun performers, including Angelia Wang, Melody Qin, Piotr Huang, Evangeline Zhu, Jay Huang, Michelle Lian, Chad Chen, as well as a score of outstanding newer talents.
Important to note, an integral element of Showcase is Shen Yun’s shen-dai-shou and kua-dai-tui dance methods. These methods were personally imparted by Mr. D.F., Shen Yun’s founder, Artistic and Creative Director, and classical Chinese dance director.
Literally meaning “the body leads the hands” and “the hips lead the legs,” shen-dai-shou and kua-dai-tui are unmatchable methods for elongating the limbs in dance, lengthening a dancer’s movements and poses. With these methods, dancers attain not only greater range, but also grander aura, more expressivity, and smoother, more flowing execution. In addition, they gain even greater strength, speed, and momentum in their jumps, spins, flips, and other technical moves.
From group displays of classical Chinese dance shen-yun and shen-fa (bearing and form) to each performer’s short technique solos, every move in the showcase is driven and enhanced by shen-dai-shou and kua-dai-tui.
We also hope that by now you’ve heard the big news: Shen Yun 2021 is finally beginning! But before the new production reaches a city near you, you can watch the Showcase right on your computer and see how, since the last performing season, Shen Yun dancers have raised the bar across the board with their commitment to excellence.
